Frequently Asked Questions

What medium do you use to paint your horses? [+ -]

All pieces are hand painted in high quality pastels, with accents of acrylic and pencil.

Do you accept unprepped horses for commissions? [+ -]

Yes, although my preference is an already prepped horse. The exception is a horse that will be resculpted or customized in some way, or needs any kind of work in epoxy. I do prep Eberls.

Will you paint a portrait for a commission? [+ -]

Yes. It must be understood that a portrait horse will be, at best, a likeness to a picture, but never exact.

Do you customize commission horses? [+ -]

Yes, I do. Please inquire with your ideas.

What do you need to know when I inquire about a commission? [+ -]

When you inquire for a commission, please let me know the horse you would like painted, the color or coat pattern you prefer, the condition of the resin, and if you would like it customized. I will then be able to tell you when I have availability and provide you with an estimate.

How do I know when my horse will be painted? [+ -]

When your horse is booked, we will discuss a time frame for a certain month. I will contact you about two weeks before I am ready to paint your horse.

When and how do I pay for my commission piece? [+ -]

When it is your horse's turn to be painted, you will be responsible for payment at that time. I accept credit cards through paypal, check or money order.

Do you take time payments on sale pieces? [+ -]

Yes. Please see policies for details.

Do you take time payments on commission pieces? [+ -]

Yes, although the horse will not be painted until it is paid in full.

Do you send progress pictures? [+ -]

When your horse has his basic color, I will send progress pictures. At that time, I encourage you to be involved with the painting process, and suggest any changes you may like so your horse is painted to your specifications. I always send at least 2 sets of in-progress pictures of your horse, as well as final studio shots, before I send him home to you.

How long does it take for my horse to get painted? [+ -]

That depends, mostly on the condition of the horse. A horse that is prepped may take about 2 weeks from start to finish. An unprepped horse takes longer, and a horse that gets custom work takes even more time.
