Since I was a little child, I have been sculpting horses. My parent's house is filled with clay ponies of all sizes, as well as some paper mache and other mediums. More recently, I have been playing with reconstructing Breyers and customizing them into one of a kind pieces, but had not yet created my piece until now. I am very proud to introduce my first original resin edition sculpture, Tivoli!

My goal with Tivoli was to create the epitome of the backyard horse; the best friend and companion. Tivoli is a grade horse, a gelding I based on the horses that grace the landscape of Vermont. I wanted to capture that relaxed but attentive state horses display while dozing in the pasture, or perhaps under saddle waiting for their rider for the next command, or quietly contemplating your approach in the field while watching over his pasture mates. I decided to call this sculpture Tivoli (promounced Tiv-OH-lee which is “I love it” spelled backwards) because this name accurately reflects my love for all equines: )

Tivoli will paint up beautifully in a variety of colors; appropriate and lovely as an appy, paint, roan or bay... he has the potential and conformation to be any color you desire! I feel certain that he will be competitive in the ring and is a convenient size for transportation. I will be painting, and offering for sale upon completion, 10 Artist Choice painted copies of him based on the horses at the stable where I sculpted him. Tivoli measures 6 1/2 inches at the eartips and toe to tail end is 9 1/4 inch long. He will be solid cast resin with steel wire reinforcements. Tivoli is a limited one mold run, with 10 copies reserved for artist choice. His edition price for an unpainted, unprepped copy is $125 plus $10 S/H, $20 for international orders.
